SIENA HEIGHTS UNIVERSITYThe mission of Siena Heights, a Catholic university founded and sponsored by the Adrian Dominican Sisters, is to assist people to become more competent, purposeful and ethical through a teaching and learning environment which respects the dignity of all. Siena Heights University is beginning a partnership with the Diocese of Saginaw to provide undergraduate major in Catholic theology for women and men presently involved in or considering parish pastoral ministry. The theology program consists of 36 credit hours. The program will involve 12 courses of three credits each. The courses will include: Foundational Theology, Scripture, Christology, Church History, Ecclesiology, Sacraments, Liturgy, Morality, Theology of Ministry, Ministry Management, Leadership and Catechetical Methods. Participants will gain an understanding of the foundational language, skills, methods and content of Catholic Theology as a discipline and be able to appropriately apply them to ministry and to life. Upon successful completion of the twelve courses students will receive a certificate in Theological Studies issues by Siena Heights University. These 36 credits may be applied toward a undergraduate degree. Students who have a undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university may apply to receive a second BA major from Siena Heights upon presentation and review of official transcripts.
