  The course will trace the development of the Church from it beginnings to the present. Special attention will be paid to Vatican II and the Constitution on the Church. Participants will be sharing their understanding of the effects of Vatican II on the Church in the past 40 years and their hopes for the future of the Church. COST: $35.

• CHURCH HISTORY

  This day-long seminar will present an overview of some of the main turning points in the history of the Christian Catholic Church. We will focus on the separation of the Early Church from its Jewish roots, the Roman persecutions, the four Christological Councils, the separation of the Eastern and Western Churches, the Protestant Reformation and the Church in the 20th century. It would be helpful to have read People of God: History of Catholic Christianity by Anthony E. Gilles (St. Anthony Messenger Press). COST: $40 (includes lunch).

• COME AWAY WITH ME AND REST AWHILE (MK 6:31):
  A spiritual renewal day for Ministers, Spiritual Directors and Care-givers.

  Jesus, in the midst of a vibrant ministry, realized the need for solitude, rest and self-care. We, as ministers and care-givers, need inner and outer space to deepen our life with God, to rest in God, to care for ourselves in life-giving ways. This spiritual renewal day offers the opportunity to come away and "be with" Jesus in the midst of "doing for and with" Him. We will contemplate our lives and ministry with Him, explore the gift of solitude, and experience prayerful ways to care for ourselves in our daily lives. COST: $50 (includes lunch).

• CONTEMPLATING & LIVING THE EASTER MYSTERY

  An exploration of the unique theology of the Gospel of John and how it invites believers into a deeply contemplative way of living the Easter mystery, especially in paschal tide. Reflection on Jesus as Good Shepherd, True Vine, and Footwasher, along with the responses of characters such as Nicodemus, the Samaritan woman, the man born blind, Mary and Martha, Mary Magdalene, the Beloved Disciple, and the mother of Jesus, will guide the discussion.
