Catholic Family Service is a private not-for-profit agency that provides a full range of counseling services to individuals, couples and families in the eleven counties of the Catholic Diocese of Saginaw. Offices are located in Bay City, Saginaw and Mt. Pleasant.
Retrouvaille is a weekend program for married couples who are considering marital separation or divorce. It gives couples the opportunity to rediscover each other and examine their lives together in a new and positive way.
The Church understands the pain of those for whom divorce seemed the only recourse. The emotional and spiritual needs of the separated and divorced require special attention. They are urged to make frequent use of the sacraments, especially the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Reconciliation.
Divorced persons who wish to marry in the Catholic Church are encouraged to seek counsel from the parish priest or pastoral administrator about the options to remedy their situation, including the suitability of a declaration of nullity (annulment) when there is no longer any hope of reconciliation of the spouses.
