Respect Life

The Respect Life Office is an educational, pastoral care and public policy ministry that seeks to instill respect and uphold and promote the dignity for human life as a sacred gift from God. Respect Life activities focus on the gift of life from the moment of conception to natural death. Our ministry promotes legislation to that effect and works to inspire people to recognize the gift of life in all its stages. We work to implement the guidelines of the USCCB’s Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities. Each October, the Catholic Church in the United States celebrates Respect Life Month, and the first Sunday of October is designated as Respect Life Sunday. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops provides free, easy-to-use materials each year to help dioceses, parishes, schools, and others highlight the gift of human life during these observances.
