Hurricane Ian – Ian left a path of destruction in southwest Florida, trapping people in homes, flooding streets and buildings, and knocking out power across the region which also has resulted in a tremendous loss of life. Homes and businesses along the Southwest Coast have been destroyed. This storm is one of the strongest hurricanes to ever hit the United States. Donations are being received now to Hurricane Ian Disaster Relief support response efforts of Catholic Charities agencies for emergency necessities such as water, food, shelter, medical care and long-term recovery efforts.

Families across Cuba and the Dominican Republic are reeling from the impact of Hurricane Ian in Cuba and Hurricane Fiona in the Dominican Republic.
Help today with a critical gift of relief.
Both hurricanes brought heavy wind and rain that has led to the need for many to flee their homes, widespread disruption of communications and electricity supply and temporary close of airports, schools and other public services. In Cuba, heavy rains and flooding continued for more than 24 hours after the storm passed.
Even before this disaster, Cuba was experiencing a total shortage of food, cleaning resources, hygiene and medicines and fuel. The extent of loss in life and damage to infrastructure will not likely be known for several days.
The hurricanes have devastated homes on both islands—many with partial or total collapse—as well as infrastructure, electrical and communication services, and agricultural land.
CRS and its local partners are responding with food, water and sanitation and, ultimately, the repair and rebuilding of homes.
