Bishop Cistone: "We must be willing to do what the Lord wants us to do."

In his homily message during Ash Wednesday Mass with the Distribution of Ashes, The Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, encouraged those gathered to use the days of Lent to become the people Jesus desires them to be. He said that while this time is certainly about increasing our prayer life, engaging in Works of Mercy, and fasting, these things should not be the focus. Rather, they should be a means by which we may unite our will more fully to the will of God. He said only when we are able to put aside our own desires, and desire what the Lord wills for our lives, will we find true joy. To view photos from today, click here.
