Bishop Gruss encourages faithful to aid tornado victims

In response to tornadoes that left a path of destruction from Arkansas to Kentucky last weekend, Bishop Robert Gruss is encouraging parishes to participate in a collection this weekend to help those who have been impacted. The faithful are being called upon, this fourth Sunday of Advent, to generously give to this collection which will support those in need.

Monetary donations may be made at all local participating parishes and Catholic institutions. Funds will be sent to the Diocese of Owensboro, where much of the devastation appears to be concentrated. Donations also may be mailed to the Diocese of Saginaw at 5800 Weiss Street, Saginaw, MI 48603, and should be made out to the “Diocese of Saginaw” with the memo portion of the check indicating "Diocese of Owensboro Relief."

Please join us in praying for all those who have been devastated by the recent tornados: those who have lost their lives so suddenly; the families forever changed by grief and loss; and those who are ministering and serving in the impacted areas. May they receive the compassion and comfort of our Lord.
