Blessed Carlo Acutis
Carlo Acutis (pictured left), often called the “Apostle of the Eucharist,” was an Italian teenager known deep devotion to his faith, particularly the Holy Eucharist. Born in London in 1991 and raised in Milan, Italy, Carlo lived a remarkably devout life. Carlo used his technological skills to create a website cataloging Eucharistic miracles from around the world. He believed that "the Eucharist is the highway to heaven," and he attended daily Mass and spent hours in Eucharistic adoration, encouraging others to recognize the true presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
Carlo prayed the Rosary daily, helped the poor and homeless, and offered his sufferings for the Church and the Pope. When he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia at the age of 15, he embraced his illness with courage and offered it for others, saying, “I offer all the suffering I will have to suffer for the Lord, for the Pope, and the Church.” Carlo will be the first millennial to be canonized by the Church.
