Daniel McKune to Join Local Financial Institution

The Most Reverend Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, and Jerome B. Blaxton, President of the Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan (CCFMM), jointly announce that Daniel P. McKune, Executive Director of CCFMM, has elected to return as a Trust Officer for a local financial institution. His last day with CCFMM is October 13, 2017.

Daniel was appointed as the Development Director for the Diocese of Saginaw and the Executive Director of CCFMM in 2008.  In 2016, following an evaluation of development operations within the Diocese and affirmation of the Foundation’s judgment that the work and assets of the Foundation had grown in such a way that a full time director was required, Daniel was appointed Executive Director of the CCFMM on a full time basis.  Since its founding in 2006, CCFMM has grown to assets of $27 million.

“I appreciate Dan’s generous engagement in many parish and community ministries.  He has established trusting relationships with our priests, parish, school and community leaders, parishioners and other donors throughout his diocesan service, and has overseen the yearly growth of the Foundation since its infancy,” Bishop Cistone expressed.  “I  am deeply grateful for Dan’s faithful service and we  look forward to Dan’s continued friendship and support.  May he experience abundant blessings as he furthers the mission of Jesus Christ in the private sector.”

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees of CCFMM,” Jerome B. Blaxton said, “I extend deep appreciation for the contributions Dan has made toward the advancement of the Foundation.  Dan has directed the Foundation for nine years and has shepherded positive growth each year and fostered new and deeper relationships within our community.  We wish Dan all the very best.”

“I appreciate and consider it an honor to have had an opportunity to serve the Church and to work with Bishop Cistone,” Daniel said. “While I look forward to returning to my roots as a Trust Officer, I also look forward to continuing to serve the Diocese of Saginaw through various ministries and events.”

On an annual basis CCFMM, a nonprofit organization, distributes over one million dollars in support of ministries of the Catholic Diocese of Saginaw, its parishes, schools, agencies and partner organizations. The Foundation manages gifts shared through joyous philanthropy reflecting God’s abundant love and distributes these resources to enable people to serve others, as we are called to do by Jesus Christ.

In the coming weeks, the Foundation Board, in consultation with the Diocese, will initiate the process to seek and select a qualified candidate to serve as the CCFMM’s Executive Director.
