KRAKOW, POLAND- July 26- Yesterday, a group of faithful from the Diocese of Saginaw arrived in Krakow, Poland for World Youth day. They spent their first day in Krakow visiting the Shrine of the Divine Mercy, St. John Paul II Sanctuary and the Wawel Castle and Cathedral.
Today, the group, which includes travelers from numerous parishes of our diocese, will join Bishop Cistone and more than 39,000 youth from the U.S at World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland.
American pilgrims are traveling in record numbers this year and will be among millions of young people present for World Youth Day.
Every three years, millions of youth from around the globe travel to World Youth Day for the opportunity to pray with and see the Holy Father. The event, which is hosted by a different country each year, includes opportunities for young pilgrims to learn more about the Catholic faith and to be strengthened and encouraged by the faith they share with so many others from around the world.
