SAGINAW- On Sunday, Bishop Robert Gruss instituted four permanent deacon candidates into the ministry of lector during Mass at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption. The permanent deacon candidates are:
- Dale Sisson of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, Saginaw
- Jacob Huysentruyt and Andrew Waligorski of Holy Family Parish, Sandusky
- Alan Wright of St. Michael Parish, Maple Grove
The ministry of lector is a preliminary step towards Holy Orders.
The Diocese of Saginaw currently has 22 permanent deacons, some of whom are married and some who are single.
