The Diocese of Saginaw is pleased to announce that Sheila Howard has joined the Diocese as a member of the Finance Department, serving in the Office of Accounting. She begins her new role on February 2.
A native of Southwest Michigan, Sheila and her family recently returned to the state after spending 17 years in the suburbs of Philadelphia, where her husband, Mike, relocated to advance his career. They have now settled in Freeland and are eager to deepen their roots in the community and participate more fully in parish life as practicing Catholics.
Sheila earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Western Michigan University, where she met Mike. They have been happily married for more than 31 years and are blessed with three children.
Sheila brings a wide variety of experience to her role. While raising her children as a stay-at-home mother, Sheila was actively involved in her children’s schools and parish community. She led fundraising efforts for the Race for Education, raising more than $25,000 to support local schools. She also volunteered with both the girls’ and boys’ basketball booster clubs, and served as a volunteer library aide, assisting students with the use of the school’s computer resources.
Following these years of dedicated family and volunteer service, Sheila returned to the workforce, gaining broad experience in accounting, human resources, and executive administrative support while living in Pennsylvania. Most recently, she held a remote position with a private financial services organization based in Grand Rapids.
In her free time, Sheila enjoys golfing, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and walking her golden retriever.
Sheila is honored and excited for this opportunity and looks forward to supporting the Church’s mission through her work in the Office of Finance, serving the parishes and diocesan community with faith and commitment.
