WHAT: Human Trafficking Awareness Day

Please join us as we learn more about this international crisis know as “modern day slavery”.  Recently trained by the Michigan Human Trafficking Task Force, Terri Grierson, director of the Office of Christian Service and Dawn Bellenger, mission coordinator of St. Mary’s of Michigan Center of Hope, will provide an overview of human trafficking; the facts vs. the myths; how to recognize and report; who is at risk, and a victim-centered approach used to protect human dignity and one’s basic right of freedom Please register by Jan. 8 by contacting Maria Coss at mcoss@dioceseofsaginaw.org or 989.797.6646. WHAT: Martin Luther King Jr. Service Day for Youth 
WHEN: Saturday, Jan. 13 
WHERE: Sacred Heart Church, Detroit 
Youth from the diocese will join Detroit area youth in a day of service to remember the life of Dr. 
Martin Luther King, Jr. The day includes transportation from Saginaw to Detroit, lunch, and the

WHAT: Holy Hour with Bishop Cistone in Carrollton 
WHEN: Thursday, Jan. 25 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. 
WHERE: St. John Paul II Parish, St. Josaphat Church, 469 Shattuck Rd, Carrollton 
Since January 2012, the Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, has traveled to different churches throughout the diocese to lead Holy Hours before the Blessed Sacrament. The faithful are invited to join him in praying for the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we strive to do God’s will in our local Church. 
  
WHAT: Blessed Solanus Casey Seminar with Father Dan Fox 
WHEN: Saturday, Jan. 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. 
WHERE: Diocesan Center For Ministry, 5802 Weiss St., Saginaw 
Join Father Dan Fox, OFM, Cap., a priest from Solanus Casey’s religious order, for an 
exploration of the life and spirituality of Blessed Solanus Casey, who was recently beatified in Detroit. Father Fox serves as pastor at Our Lady of Grace Parish in Sanford. Cost is $20 including lunch and $10 without lunch. For more information, or to register, please call 989.797.6607. 
  
WHAT: Catholic Schools Week 
WHEN: Sunday, Jan. 28 to Saturday, Feb. 3 
WHERE: Throughout the Diocese of Saginaw and Across the Nation 
Catholic schools across the nation and here in the Diocese of Saginaw will celebrate National Catholic Schools Week from Jan. 31 to Feb. 6. The week will be an opportunity to recognize the great gift of Catholic schools to local communities. This year’s theme is “Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.” Detailed information about Catholic Schools Week at specific schools will be available on school websites and in parish bulletins.
