Our Catholic Schools Summer 2026 Community Update
The 2025-26 academic year saw continued growth in our Catholic schools. Academically, our schools outperformed Michigan public schools as well as Catholic schools in the state and nationally in math and reading achievement and growth in eight of nine grade levels (K-8). On average, 68% of our students met or exceeded their annual growth projections in math and reading.

Faithful invited to join Father Charles Warner at Masses of Thanksgiving this weekend
Faithful are invited to join Father Charles Warner for one of his Masses of Thanksgiving following his ordination to the priesthood today. These special liturgies offer an opportunity to give thanks to God for the gift of the priesthood and to pray for Father Charles as he begins his ministry.

Year of the Holy Spirit Monthly Talks – Mark your calendars! The first talk is June 17 with Bishop Gruss
Bishop Gruss presenting on the topic, “Who is the Holy Spirit? After that, Fr. Jose Maria Cabrera presents “The Holy Spirit in Sacred Scripture” on July 8. All monthly talks will be from 6:30- 8 p.m. Wednesdays at the Center for Ministry in Saginaw. For those who cannot attend in person, each presentation will be livestreamed. Register Today!

Father Andy Booms visits Michigan House of Representatives to lead prayer
On Thursday, June 11, Father Andy Booms had the opportunity to offer the invocation before the Michigan House of Representatives at the State Capitol in Lansing. The invitation came from State Representative Jerry Neyer of Michigan’s 92nd District, a member of Father Andy’s parish (Sacred Heart in Mt. Pleasant), who asked him to lead the opening prayer before the legislative session began.
