Bishop Gruss' Christmas Greeting
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN OVERWHELMED BY THE GOSPEL?
Perhaps this diocesan-wide retreat will lead you there. Over the course of six weeks – beginning with the Solemnity of Christ the King (Nov. 24), followed by the four weeks of Advent and Christmas (Dec. 25), Bishop Gruss has asked the priests of the diocese to provide their parishioners the opportunity to experience the Gospel in a new way.
Through their Sunday homily, parishioners will better understand where Jesus is leading the Diocese, beginning with a new proclamation of the Gospel through the lens of a "Biblical Worldview” (the Kerygma) by way of these four key words ---Created, Captured, Rescued and Respond.
“I have a deep conviction that God wants to do something far greater than we can imagine in the Diocese of Saginaw.
This retreat is only the beginning. If fully engaged, it will lead to an unshakeable confidence in the Lordship of Jesus. We will want to live our lives surrendered in prayer and humility to the working of the Holy Spirit. I invite each of you in your parishes to join me for this retreat opportunity. These are important times for all of us. You were born for this!”
- Most Rev. Robert D. Gruss, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Saginaw
What we celebrate today, and what we heard over these past five weeks is the greatest love story in human history
The invasion of one kingdom by another kingdom is complete. As C.S. Lewis said, the rightful king has landed in disguise.
