For the last 6 years, K of C council 7571 at St. Athanasius Harrison has organized a Seminarian Hot Dog Fundraiser lunch in early August. This year, we have scheduled Sunday, August 10th for our fundraiser. We invite a Seminarian to serve the 11am Mass as an altar server or a lector. Then, in the social hall during lunch, he is asked to give us his vocation story, followed by Q and A. The parishioners donate a freewill offering, and the Knights match it. From donations collected we pay a stipend to the seminarian and remunerate his gas, then send the balance to the diocese for seminarian formation.
