The Adoration Chapel at St. Joseph Chapel, St. Jude Thaddeus Parish, has provided the faithful with the opportunity to spend time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament for 30 years. On July 25, the memorial of St. James the Apostle, the Adoration Chapel will be transferred from its current location to the St. James Chapel at All Saints Parish in Bay City. Tours of the new location will be today, July 10 at 6 p.m. and Thursday, July 12 at 2 p.m. at St. James Church, All Saints Parish, 710 Columbus Ave. in Bay City.
“All Saints Parish is very happy to host the chapel. We believe that prayer before the Blessed Sacrament is a very important practice of Catholic devotion. Those who faithfully take time to pray before the Lord know the blessings that come from this practice,” parish leadership said in a press release.
The New Adoration Chapel at St. James Church
Eucharistic Adoration is a devotional practice in which the faithful spend time in silent prayer before the Blessed Sacrament exposed in a monstrance. The faithful can sign up for specific periods of time to ensure someone is always keeping vigil; others may choose to drop into the chapel at any time.
To accommodate the new Adoration Chapel, St. James Church at All Saints Parish is installing a new security door for direct access at the intersection on Monroe Street and Columbus Avenue. New interior doors, video cameras and sidewalk repairs also guarantee safety and ease of accessibility.

At that time, Father Dale Orlik, pastor of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish, will lead a short prayer service before the transition. At noon at St. James Church, 710 Columbus Ave., Bay City, Bishop Joseph Cistone will then preside at a Solemn Mass, followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at the new Adoration Chapel.
