SAGINAW — The Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, began his fall tour of the diocese's Catholic schools, celebrating Masses with the students, teachers, parents and grandparents. He began by thanking all those who generously support Catholic schools, and asked for God's blessing on the year ahead. In his homily message to the young people, Bishop Cistone encouraged them to "be the difference" in their schools, communities and world.

"We are all called to be like Jesus in making a difference," Bishop Cistone said. "You should do this because it will make you feel good and because our world needs your help, but most importantly because God wants us to reach out and care for one another."

The bishop celebrated Masses this week with elementary, middle and high school students at All Saints Central in Bay City and Nouvel Catholic Central in Saginaw, as well as elementary and middle school students at St. Elizabeth Area Catholic School in Reese.
