Sister Lois Ann Sheaffer, SFCC, a member of the Sisters for Christian Community, died on Monday, July 13 at the age of 77. She was well known for her work and ministry among the poor. She lived on the East side of Saginaw and was a religious presence among the community. She served at St. Rita's Parish, Sacred Heart School and East Catholic Elementary School, all in Saginaw. Visitation will take place from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the vigil at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Ave., Saginaw. A family hour will take place at 10 a.m. followed by Mass at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 18 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 N. 6th St., Saginaw. The Rev. Frank Voris, OFM, Cap will preside.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Houghton-Jones Resource Center and canned goods may be donated to the Good Neighbors Mission.
