We have received word of the death of Most Rev. Joseph Adamec, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown, on March 20. Bishop Adamec was born in Bannister, Michigan and served as a priest in the Diocese of Saginaw from 1961- 1987 until his appointment as Bishop of Altoona-Johnstown in March of 1987.
We are ever grateful for his pastoral ministry and service among us. I extend our sympathies and prayers for him, his family and those he served. May he be at peace.
