Many people in Southern California have lost their homes in the tragic fires over the past few days. We lift them up in our prayers at this time, that they experience the love and presence of God in the midst of their suffering and loss.
May Mary, our Blessed Mother, wrap her mantle of mercy around them. In this Jubilee Year of Hope, may the Lord fill their hearts with the hope that only He can provide. - Bishop Robert Gruss
Emergency Relief for California wildfires
In response to the devastating wildfires in California we are called to support those in need. Truly one of the greatest losses a family can face besides death of a loved one is the loss of all personal possessions. Their family story is lost in an instant. In these situations, the stories of loss and devastation are almost impossible to comprehend. What we can do is straight from our Catholic understanding of love and mercy. We can reach out to those in need with not only our prayers but in a very concrete manner. Please consider donating to Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) which is assisting with humanitarian relief through local agencies on the ground and will be present during the recovery period to come. 100% of your gift will be sent where it's needed most!
All funds raised will assist those displaced or suffering because of the fires. In response to the devastation, the Diocese of Saginaw is collaborating with Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA). Donations may be made by going to the link above, image below or by check made payable to Diocese of Saginaw, 5800 Weiss St, Saginaw, Ml, 48603, with 'California Wildfire Relief' and 'Attn: Maria Coss' specified in the memo line. Please direct questions to Maria Coss at 989.797.6646
