THE EUCHARIST AND THE BIBLICAL MANUSCRIPTS

Cost
$10

The Eucharist has a central role in the Christian life. As Catholics, we are accustomed to actively experience the Eucharist as it has been handed down to us by the living tradition of the Church. The Biblical manuscripts also bear witness to the importance of the Eucharist in the life of the Church. In this summer Scripture seminar, we will see what the Eucharistic passages of the Bible look like in the pages of ancient, medieval, and even modern manuscripts. Fr. Jose will also explore some New Testament passages about the Eucharist to draw out meanings which are sometimes lost in translation from the original Koine Greek language.

Fr. José Cabrera serves as the pastor of All Saints Parish, Bay City, and is the Vicar for the senior clergy of the Diocese of Saginaw. He teaches Scripture in the diocese’s Lay Ecclesial Ministry and Permanent Deacon Formation Programs. He also enjoys sharing his love for ancient manuscripts through his Bible Museum, and in his free time he enjoys fishkeeping and playing guitar.
