Sacred Music Concert: Faure's Requiem

The Cathedral parish, in conjunction with Assumption Parish in Midland and musicians from across the Saginaw diocese, is proud to present Gabriel Faure's timeless musical setting of the "Requiem" or Mass for the faithful departed. Titled after the opening chant "Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine" (Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord), Faure's arrangement of the music from the Requiem mass draws us deep into prayer. This evocative work leads us through themes of mercy, penance, and ultimately hope of eternal peace in paradise.
