Moved by Ancient Voices

Don't miss this chance to hear the remarkable personal testimonies of three Christians who recently came
into full communion with the Catholic Church because of the impact that Scripture and the writings of
Church Fathers had on their lives. They will also share reflections on some specific passages that have had
a powerful influence on their journeys of faith. Dr. Jeffrey Lehman teaches at Hillsdale College; Dr. Toby
Long is a medical doctor in Saginaw who previously attended seminary at Princeton, where he won an 

Holy Hour

Since January 2012, the Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, former Bishop of Saginaw, traveled to
different churches throughout the diocese to lead Holy Hours before the Blessed Sacrament. You are
warmly invited to join him in praying for the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we strive to do God’s will in
our local Church.

An Evening of Enrichment for Spiritual Directors

Mary Schaffner, Associate Director of Spirituality Ministries of Our Lady of Fatima Retreat House in
Indianapolis, is returning to the Diocese of Saginaw to offer another evening of enrichment for spiritual
directors. She will not only share insights from her training at Creighton University (where she received a
Graduate Certificate of Spiritual Direction and Silent Directed Retreats from Creighton’s Christian
Spirituality Program), but she will also draw from her own rich experience as a spiritual director.

The New Evangelization Summit

This annual conference brings together speakers who are leaders in evangelization to provide inspiration,
encouragement, practical wisdom, and resources on how Catholics can effectively evangelize. The Summit
will again be held in Ottawa, Canada and live-streamed via the internet to host sites across North America,
including several parishes in the Diocese of Saginaw.

An Evening of Reflection for Befrienders and Pastoral Care Ministers

All pastoral care ministers, grief facilitators, Befrienders and all those that visit the sick and homebound are
welcome to join in an evening of prayer/reflection to affirm individual gifts and enhance these vital
ministries.

A Day of Grace & Gratitude

This is an end-of-the-program-year celebration to recognize and thank our parish faith formation leaders
and youth ministers. We will gather for prayer followed by a short presentation and lunch. There is no cost
to the faith formation leaders/youth ministers for this celebration.

Encountering Mary: A Virtual Pilgrimage to Fatima

May is the month of Mary – a perfect time to join Father Bill Rutkowski in an exploration of Marian
spirituality as he leads participants through a virtual pilgrimage of Fatima. Fr. Rutkowski is the Vicar
General of the Diocese of Saginaw and serves as sacramental minister at St. John Vianney Parish in
Saginaw.

Cost: $11 without lunch; $21 with lunch.

Pastoral Care 102 Workshop: "End of Life Care & Support"

Caring for individuals at the end of their lives requires a special understanding of needs, grieving and loss
as well as the unique concerns of the family. Pastoral Care 102 is the second workshop in the series of
Pastoral Care Training and will focus on providing spiritual care to the dying, a deeper understanding of
caregiver self-care and of hospice and palliative care. A certificate of completion will be given to all those
attending. All those who visit the sick, elderly and homebound are encouraged to attend.
